Awareness work deeply affects us as individuals, often challenging our mental and emotional resilience due to its nature of dealing directly with complex and sensitive issues. The emotional labor involved can lead to stress and burnout, highlighting the crucial need for self-care and resilience among awareness workers. In this workshop, we will explore strategies of self-care and building resilience. It invites participants to exchange on methods that help keep a steady state of mind, even when things get tough. By talking things through and thinking about our experiences, we'll highlight best practices that help us to face difficult situations.

Next tour of Gravity Network is coming to Warsaw on April 12 and 13, 2024, with talk and of course quality dancing sesh.

Kickstarting on Friday the 12th, we invite you to dive into a conversation with Mala Junta – the infamous Berlin-based, fabulously queer collective renowned for championing inclusivity, friendship and community spirit. Joining us for this discussion will be three members: DJ Tool, Nayme and Yazzus.

On Saturday, during the Clubnight, Jasna 1 welcomes one of the most respected producers and remixers, the Spanish giant — John Talabot. Joining him will be Gravity Artist and Garage Noord resident cccore. Local support comes in the form of two long-time friends, Kovvalsky and Phatrax, who will showcase their mutual love with an opening back-to-back set before maestro John Talabot takes the booth.

Bar room will be charged thanks to another Gravity Artist — ophélie, a France-born, Berlin-based DJ with a strong taste for bass-heavy music in all its forms. Keeping the vibe will be one of the coolest cats in the local biz, iffi, and Elena Sizova.

, represented by Nela Zielińska and Justyna Krawczyk on the panel, is dedicated to raising awareness and educating individuals about the so-called date-rape pills: their effects, symptoms of poisoning, and potentially risky situations. Comprising over 40 volunteers from across Poland, the collective benefits from scientific support in the fields of chemistry and toxicology. Continuously educating themselves on the technical aspects of psychoactive substances, they organize workshops and training sessions to enhance awareness regarding the date-rape pills.

 [The Social Drug Policy Initiative] is a non-governmental organization dedicated to harm reduction. It supports the idea of decriminalizing the possession of psychoactive substances for personal use, enabling individuals with addiction to access diverse and effective forms of treatment, reducing the harms associated with drug use, and allowing currently illegal substances for medical use in specific cases. SIN operates at clubs and music festivals, providing harm reduction services.

The organization will be represented by Justyna Bryka, 4th year psychology student and SIN volunteer, who is actively involved in Warsaw’s nightlife, and Artur Hołdasiewicz, a neuroscience enthusiast with a grasp in the club scene and an active member of SIN with over three years of experience in educating party-goers about Psychoactive Substances.

is a young and underground collective aiming to bring back the original atmosphere and sound of the techno movement through their activities. Each party represents a different concept and message regarding the current state of the scene. Co-founder of the collective Mateusz will join the talk.

Gravity Network returns to Warsaw for the 4th time, with both a clubnight, talks and a Workshop at Jasna 1. 

Following the Talks we'll seamlessly transition into the Clubnight with a captivating live performance by Polish artist, Julek Ploski. The night continues with the introduction of Gravity Artists: phil in a maze and Richii, along with much-anticipated back-to-back set by two French fellas – the mastermind behind Fusion Mes Couilles, Emma dj, and the sly boy Toma Kami.  [Duke University Press, 2023] Luis Manuel Garcia-Mispireta examines how people find ways to get along and share a dancefloor, a vibe, and a sound. Drawing on time spent in the minimal techno and house music subscenes in Chicago, Paris, and Berlin as the first decade of the new millennium came to a close, Garcia-Mispireta explains this bonding in terms of what he calls stranger-intimacy: the kind of warmth, sharing, and vulnerability between people that happens surprisingly often at popular electronic dance music parties.

“A lot of [intimacy on the dancefloor] happens precisely because we don’t actually know all that much about each other,” says the author.

Gravity Network & Ankali will host a pre-club talk with Luis on Friday [Jan 12] at pluto [Planeta Za]. During the evening, Luis will be reading excerpts from his book, talking about his research and the ideas behind, followed by a 1-1 conversation with rRoxymore, and a Q&A.

Luis Manuel Garcia-Mispireta is a scholar, curator, and practitioner of popular electronic music, using practice-led ethnographic methods. Luis is also a DJ and member of Berlin’s Room 4 Resistance collective.

Before kicking off the next phase, Gravity Network is reaching the finale of its first run with a third round of events in Prague, Warsaw and Berlin. Ankali & Planeta Za will host a Clubnight on September 2, bringing Gravity artists just claudia, Marie Pravda and NCOL, along with Warning resident and Paryia label head Marie Montexier, and local selectora lizwiz.

What is the physical and emotional motivation of our bodies to move? What emotions accompany us in movement and how can they be consciously transformed into a shared gesture, action, dance? How do we build connections, reciprocity between bodies, co-existence, shared forms of resistance and co-feeling in movement?

The starting point for the workshop is the need to create a space of celebration of FREE BODIES, dedicated to the community-forming, socially-purifying power of dance. It is based on a hybrid technique enhancing individual and group presence.

The participants draw on experiential anatomy and somatic techniques, deepening the feeling and awareness of bodies. The dance practice will be built modularly with live music played by DJ daisy cutter.

Sessions combine both elements of dynamic meditation, footwork from club and street culture and trance dances, and  explore different dynamics and nature of movement, different types of movement and physical expression.

 sound workshop, conducted by Radek Sirko aka Duy Gebord, aims to help art novices in taking their first steps in the field of music. During the workshop he'll present a wide range of possible digital operations in sound, which allow the participants to explore ways of creating electronic music, but also soundscapes, pieces for radio or any other digital audio works.

Topics discussed include music hardware (microphone, loudspeaker, mixer), sound recording, audio signal (analog and digital), music software and DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), sound synthesis, sampling, modulation effects, compression, sound editing, automation and midi. 

To take part in the workshops you have to

Radek Sirko is sound artist, producer, curator, culture and media theorist. He co-founded Audile Snow label where he has published experimental electronic music and multimedia projects. As

 film, member of the music and activist collective Destitute, and co-organizer of the umór events. He is a 2022 PhD graduate of the University of Arts in Poznań.

While Berlin has implanted itself as a hub for sex positive parties & liberating dancefloors, we’ve undergone a broad transformation in our party practices. The responsibility of running such events has many aspects: security, safer spaces, drug use and abuse: while we need to control the dancefloor in some ways, the core element, freedom, has gone through a multitude of changes with new structures and concepts.

How do we provide security while ensuring the hedonistic practices of the guests? What are the responsibilities of an awareness team and how should they cooperate with promoters and clubs? And finally, what can we learn from one another and how can we educate audiences? We chat with Berlin & London’s key figures of sex positive parties & awareness teams to find out.

In this hands-on workshop the participants learn the fundamentals of the sonification applied in the modular synthesisers. In the workshop the synthesizers from  Endorphin.es will be taken as an example to give an introduction on how to build up a patch for a live techno performance. The approaches of how to build a composition, improvisation and performance with modular synthesis is going to be explained based on this system.

For the workshop the two mentors Francesco Devincenti and Jacky Noise will bring you in an hour the basics of modular synthesizers, and guide you to the first overview of how to make a patch.

The intimate floor of Planeta Za will be overseen by 

, the Berlin community radio station which transformed from a fundraising platform working in solidarity with grassroots organisations into a 24/7 online broadcast in 2021, amplifying music and issues they care about. Refuge is currently on their European Tour and will make a stop at Prague with residents Gramrcy, No Plastic, O.N.A and YUI, joined by Gravity’s Mor Wen on the bill.

Dangermami (Femme Bass Mafia, Refuge Worldwide)

Six artists representing the participating clubs and their scenes are joining the event: fleika from Ankali will be opening the Main Room with a mind-blowing techno set; Berlin-based Valentino Mora will be serving us a deep touch of mesmerising electronics. Last but not least, another resident of Ankali – a closing specialist Yan – will blend dubby, trancey techno and various house cuts with a strong emphasis on the groove & bass. Visit the Bar Room for a proper eclectic set from Ukrainian and Warsaw-based DJ Anna Borsuk. Next, one and only Bejenec, analog wizard from Kyiv. Dangermami from RSO.Berlin will be closing Bar Room so expect a set full of bouncy basslines and ravey beats.
